ABOUT US

We are a regional football entity bringing collaboration of football together with our partner football clubs, schools and football operations under one umbrella.

Established with the purpose to create a sustainable pathway for all our partners to achieve for our wider football community.

Our community clubs face similar challenges in providing football service to its members, its community and football area, especially its elite footballers, all of which is managed by volunteers. An amalgamated approach to form a hub with one development pathway, increase opportunity, less financial stress and achieve this with less burden on volunteers.

Our extensive partnerships within New Zealand and abroad provide our community football clubs, schools and football operators, an all combined service with a shared approach without compromise to its purpose and ambitions; for our elite players, aspiring elite players, coaches/staff and volunteers; while our community arms provides a more focused approach for community football.

North Harbour United will operate independently as a business of football for its partners, providing unique services with aim to provide opportunities that are either difficult to facilitate under our landscape, too costly to facilitate independently by our partners or otherwise would not be available to our football community.

Having seen the lack of options for players to learn and develop, and the struggles our clubs face, we took to working on a concept of an idea of a football hub. As football in New Zealand started to grow and plans from New Zealand Football entered the ranks into development, this potential set up of a hub approach appeared to be one that needed more serious thought.

The hub plans became a strong pillar within plans. The verbal approval was given in 2018 and Albany United FC started exploring the set up and discussions of a partnership with Grennhithe FC. Both clubs were delighted to be aligned, and more aspects were put in place to solidify and bring together the two organisations, where the overlap would be the hub and be the basis for the clubs development.

The evolve of football within our region and development plans cascaded from our regional body, and already working together in several areas to ensure their members were front of mind, 2022 saw the establishment of our football hub plans, North Harbour United.
